Carnarvon Gorge? really got into it.
You can certainly tick off ‘been there, done that’ after a visit, but to learn the secrets of Carnarvon Gorge and truly deepen your experience it helps to have some insider knowledge while you’re here.
Check it out & check in
There are plenty of ways to do that. You might do your own desktop research (check out our Adventure page for a few ideas), and our friendly Taka team will get you started at check-in, providing you with a map, telling you about their favourite places in the gorge, offering suggestions on which walks to take, and are there each day to answer any questions you might have.
Visitor information sessions
Once you’ve settled in, straight after Bush bar, join us on the deck at 5pm and really get the lowdown on what to see and where to go, in a way that suits your time, interests & physical ability. You’ll get ‘live’ visitor information as we run through the best walks & places to explore so you get the absolute most from your stay.
Note – information sessions run mid-March to September, outside peak season, the Taka team will tell you all you need to know.
Your own tour guide
And for the ultimate in Carnarvon Gorge know how, consider joining us on one of our guided tours, learn about the amazing history of the gorge, the geology, the wildlife and see the best sites, or learn about the amazing Carnarvon night sky – all with your own personal guide. Groups are limited to 12 and these really are ‘school of life’ experiences for all ages. Interested? Visit our Guided tours page and book in advance to avoid disappointment.
